new years panther

i had the pleasure of doing this lil' puddy cat on a cool cat from thompson, manitoba last week. did the original drawing months ago and was waiting for someone to finally get it, so when he approached me about this piece, i had to put it into photoshop and color it...hopefully i'll get some t-shirts done too.

in other news: 2011 starts in a couple days and i hope to have a successful year, i plan on working more on my art and eliminating distractions from my life that are going to get in the way of my goals. 2010 was good and i would like to take this opportunity to recognize all my family, friends, and clients who helped me get to where i am at. i'm not a very affectionate person so i don't always say it with my words, but i truly do love all of you.

sorry for all the seriousness. i will try and not do that again...so fuck off hey!

lil irish bastard

finished this tattoo awhile ago, but never posted it. not because i don't like it, actually pretty pleased at how it turned out. the really real reason is i was watching a lil flick called leprechaun, shits scary...didn't want to get on the bad side of the irish...i don't know what i would do without potatoes.

if you got something to say then say it in the comments. peace!

leprechaun tattoo wip

i love little people...glad there are so many reality shows out there about them, so imagine my excitement when a client comes in and asks for a leprechaun on his arm. it gave me an instant chubby, which made the cosultation a little awkward, but we worked through it.

so you've seen the sketch and now the tattoo after 7 hours. still needs a couple hours, but it's a good start. used a 7 round liner in soba pilot liner machine, 9 mag shader in my swashdrive, intenze inks. i normally pour out a whole bunch of different inks, but on this one i wanted to do something different so i limited myself to cyan, magenta, yellow, black, and white (electric pick does this and his work looks amazing so i figured it wouldn't hurt).

let me know what you think...of the work, not me...i know i'm despicable.

business meets punk part 2

the original is here. almost done, but this was 7.5 hours of color work today on the ribs so we decided to call it a day.

all i set up today was a 9 mag in my swashdrive and intenze inks. got some awesome projects coming up this week so stay tuned.

marilyn manson

ahhhhh! so nice to get back to doing something that is familiar. i have been doing so many black and grey realism pieces lately that i was beginning to miss doing whacked out interpretation of what is around us...so here is a little glimpse into my mind...enjoy.

this piece is on ms. krystn victoria our shop manager. she kinda has a boner for marilyn manson so i filled in a spot between 2 existing marilyn tattoos. my drawing. lined with my soba pilot liner and a tight seven. colored with 9 mag in my gen 6 swashdrive (dope). all intenze inks...sidenote: i use to use eternal and fusion which are really good inks, my only complaint is that it doesn't wipe away easy and because of that i feel it slows me down.

busy and fun week coming up. lots of cool tattoos will be started, some finished (hopefully), and some pretty rad drawings. stay tuned and classy.

portrait

i don't get asked to do these much, but do have fun when i get the opportunity.

most of this tattoo was done with an 11 mag bugpin in my fancy schmancy gen 6 swashdrive rotary tattoo machine and the little bit of lining was done with a soba pilot liner with the voltage turned down pretty low. i did have a regular 7 mag setup in my next generation machine, but didn't really use it. silverback greywash set including their black, which i believe they call "11"...cannot say enough good things about this ink.

kept the stencil pretty simple because i found that they were getting way to busy and interfering with my tattooing. put on with stencil stuff because its the shit.

i also tattoo

a little something i started today. wanted to give it a comic book/fantasy mixed with realism feeling. spent about 3ish hours on this and have about that much time left on it. original art that i drew up for this can be seen here.

lined with a tight 7 in my brand new (and now favorite) soba pilot liner and a tight 3 in my trusty ol' pulse executive. for the shading i used an 11 bugpin in swashdrive rotary...fantastic machine, almost bought another one today, but should wait or look at the stigma hyper.

kiro sumi for lining and silverback greywash. never have used any other of the grey washes on the market, but i love the silverback so why change?

now to go paint some more skulls. PEACE son!

p.s. going to buy a new camera (canon rebel xsi) and set up a photo area in the shop. my good friend aly is also going to teach me how to take a decent photo so that there are no more excuses.

skull action

i have tattooed a whole lot of skull imagery in the last year and 5 months (the time when i found my calling as a tattoo applicator), but it never gets old...i love me some skull action.

used my gen 6 swashdrive rotary machine equipped with a regular 7 mag needle from eikon and set up a tight 5 in my brand new soba pilot liner, but only used it for the white highlights. premixed silverback greywash set and the new silverback black.

reference photos were also used for the skull and roses. feel free to critique or ask questions. PEACE!

when lifestyles attack

it was a sunny and hot day today. everyone i know went to the beach and i don't even care because i got to do this today. i ordered a brand new soba pilot liner and was hoping to use it on this , but it didn't get to me in time so i had to use my trusty ol' pulse executive.

3ish hours of lining on the ribs, all with a tight 7 round. hoping i can finish it the next time we meet in a couple of weeks.

rawrrrr

i heart tentacles. this is adding to lyn's music stuff sleeve. the octopus is fashioned after the one from the dirty heads, which i am not familiar with, but probably wouldn't like because i don't like anything.

PEACE

bloody angels and bitches

here is what i did all day. i know what you're thinking and you are right, this is not much to do in a whole sitting, but unfortunately i have to give out the not so coveted hall of shame award. the hall of shame is reserved for clients that: a) smell like dirty laundry and/or cat piss. b) can't sit the fuck still. c) are socially awkward where having any type of conversation is not possible. d) tell me how to do my job. and e) "are we almost done?"...now you don't need to do all of these to be considered for the hall of shame and doing just one doesn't necessarily mean that you will get the award. it's on a per case/situation evaluation.

other news! going to banff next week! will be tattooing out of Perfect Image. can't wait. should be a lot of fun and maybe i can learn a few tricks from some amazing artists.

PEACE!

zombie elvis

why would anyone ever want a tattoo of elvis as a zombie? because they are dope! here it is. still need to go in and do some radioactive nuclear greens, but this is what you get after about 6.5 hours.

i also noticed that if anyone actually reads this blog (which i seriously doubt), there is a lack of interaction...please let me know that you despise me or you would like to have my luv chillren. it makes the days go by quicker when i have hate mail to read.

PEACE!

robot dance healed

nothing new and exciting just had an opportunity to get a healed photo of robot doing the robot.

also because i can't take a decent photo if my life depended on it the very talented aly lenhardt took this photo. she works at the shop on the weekends...it's the best part of my work week. check out her blog, she's dopest in the world.

peace world! leave comments or die.

happy saint valentines day to all you cool cats and jive turkeys.
